Delaware Radio Station Bans Tyrese Music

R&B singer/actor Tyrese Gibson has had his music banned from a top radio station in Delaware following a dispute with network bosses which led to his ejection from a live show during a recent interview.

The Transformers star was chatting about his latest tracks on WJKS KISS 101.7 on Monday, when he digressed from the interview and made a passionate speech urging local officials to ban liquor stores near schools after seeing one on the way to the station.

He told the DJ, “Get them cats out of here… selling alcohol right across from your kids school, homie – put the pressure on them homie (pal)… you know how to put pressure on dudes selling in your hood.”

Gibson was forced to leave mid-way through the interview after station owner Tony Quartarone accused the guest of disrespecting listeners by referring to them as “homies”.

The star remained defiant and in a post on his Twitter.com page, he wrote, “I just (got) kicked out of a radio station frm (from) a (program director) who had a problem w/ (with) me speaking on liquor stores that are by elementary schools in Delaware… If you don’t stand for something… You will damn near fall for anything.”

And now his music has now been taken off air at KISS, the most popular hip-hop station in the state. Quartarone says he’ll consider playing Tyrese’s tracks again if he receives an apology from the star, reports TMZ.com.
