Chef Defends Chris Brown-Rihanna ‘Black and Bleu’ Sandwich

An owner-chef of a restaurant in Watkinsville, Georgia, says he meant no disrespect when he created a sandwich that made light of Chris Brown‘s 2009 assault of Rihanna.

Richard Miley works at Chops & Hops, which last week unveiled its “Caribbean black and bleu sandwich,” featuring “Caribbean-spiced marinated sliced ribeye” with bleu cheese, tomato, onions and shredded romaine lettuce. A description on the restaurant’s Facebook page reads, “Chris Brown won’t beat you up for eating this unless your name starts with a R and ends with A.”

Predictably, the Facebook post led to many complaints. Miley tells ABCNews.com he did not expect the backlash, but he adds, “I’m not going to take it off Facebook, because I’m not afraid of what I did.”

The restaurant has since posted the following message onto Facebook: “The owners of C&H would like to make sure everyone knows that we and our staff DO NOT SUPPORT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. Many of us have been affected by domestic violence in some manner and realize that this is no joke.”
