As the tragic news of Doe B’s untimely death continues to spread throughout the hip-hop community, the rapper’s management team, the Blueprint Group, has issued a statement regarding the artist’s death.

In a statement (via HipHopDX), the company sent their condolences to Doe B’s family and asked fans to remember the rapper through his music and not his death.

Doe B was an amazing young man, in every sense of the word,” the statement reads. “A truly talented artist, a loving father and a dedicated member of the Hip Hop community at large, he touched the lives of the many people who had the privilege of knowing him. The Blueprint Group offers our condolences to our Doe B label partners Interscope / Hustle Gang, his management DJ Frank White and Brooklyn Knights, and most of all his family, friends and fans at this very difficult time. We ask that you remember him not by his untimely death, but by his love of life and the music he left behind.”

DJ Frank White, who also manages Doe B, is devastated by the loss. In a press release, he expressed great remorse for the 22-year-old rapper and promised to preserve his musical legacy.

“The world has lost a great person and a genius artist way to soon,” he said. “Doe’s work ethic was incredible. He still has over 200 unreleased hits. His memory will live on.”

Doe B (aka Glenn Thomas) was shot and killed early Saturday morning (Dec. 28) in Montgomery, Ala., at Centennial Hill Bar and Grill (formerly the Rose Supper Club). Another victim, 21-year-old Kimberle Johnson, was also killed and six additional victims were wounded during the shooting.

In the aftermath of the club shooting, Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange has shut down the club indefinitely saying the establishment poses “an imminent threat to public safety.”

The mayor cited the fact that the shootings occurred despite the presence of the club’s security team and repeated warnings from the city of Montgomery to provide better protection for its patrons.

“I believe it is not a matter of ‘if,’ but ‘when’ the next tragic incident occurs at this business,” said Strange. “That is unacceptable, and that is why we have ordered the business to be closed effective immediately.”

We want to send our heartfelt prayers to Doe B’s family and loved ones. May he rest in peace.
