The actress, in connection with BET and Telepictures, will host The Keke Palmer Project. The daily show will focus on young adults and is set for an initial four-week run, airing Monday-Friday.
Judge Greg Mathis, whose own show Judge Mathis is produced by Telepictures, will be executive producer over the project, after being heavily involved in bringing this deal together. The show will cover various topics, including fashion, pop culture, social issues, celebrity interviews, and more.
The idea for the show stems from her interaction with fans on social media..
“I like to read quotes that touch on how I am feeling,” she said. “If I am dealing with confusion, I will read quotes about clarity and peace of mind. I started posting these quotes on my Twitter page, and the fans responded so positively! I realized that many of them were dealing with similar issues, and the quotes helped to open up a genuine dialogue between us.”
When the show airs, the 20-year-old will become the youngest talk show host in TV history (currently, it’s Ricki Lake, who was 25 when she started her talk show).
