Hooligan Boyz member Christopher Garza has been denied bond by the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office after he has been charged in the death of bandmate Miguel Silva, KRIS-TV reports.

The 31-year old Garza is being held for Silva’s death. During a brief hearing this morning, Garza asked the court to appoint an attorney to his case. He also learned that the Sheriff’s Department is fighting his request to be released on bond.  Judge Jose Longoria could not give Garza a reason for why his request to be released on bond was being denied.

The San Antonio-based Hooligan Boyz opened up for Baby Bash on Friday night at Club XS. Several hours later, Corpus Christi police were called to a fight at the Embassy Suites Hotel on S. Padre Island Drive.

They arrived to find 31-year-old Silva unconscious. Medics rushed him to the hospital while performing CPR.

Police have not released further details on what happened.
