A memorial fund has been set up to cover funeral expenses for Miguel Silva a.k.a. MIG, a member of the San Antonio-based rap group Hooligan Boyz. His family has set up The Miguel Silva Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo banks with checking account #6998327529. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.
Silva was found unresponsive early Saturday morning in a Corpus Christi hotel room after police were responded to a fight reported at the hotel.
Hooligan Boyz member Christopher Garza a.k.a. Profit has been charged with murder in the death of MIG. Garza’s bond was denied by a Nueces County judge on Monday with no reason given.
A benefit for MIG has also been set up for Wednesday, February 5 at Copa Ultra Lounge, located at 4429 Walzem Road in San Antonio. Doors open at 9 p.m. with a $10 donation for entrance.

A member of the San Antonio-based rap group the Hooligan Boyz has been charged in the death of a bandmate after an apparent fight at a Corpus Christi hotel, the Associated Press reports.
Christopher Garza a.k.a. Profit, 31, was being held Monday on a murder charge and bond has been set at $200,000, according to Nueces County jail records.
Police say 31-year-old Miguel Silva a.k.a. M.I.G. was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at hospital after police responded to a fight at a hotel early Saturday.
A coroner on Monday had no preliminary cause of death for Silva. Toxicology results are pending.
Police are talking to witnesses and checking hotel security video.
A post on the band’s official Facebook page read:
“We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Hooligan Boyz “M.I.G.” and appreciate the outpouring of love and support we have received from everyone. This is a tragic and sudden loss and we ask that you respect our privacy during this time of grieving. Also ask that you please don’t rush to conclusions as this is an on going case.
